Most of us associate the smell of citronella essential oil with lazy summer nights in the garden. Citronella is a grass native to Sri Lanka where it is extensively cultivated in the country’s south. There are two types of citronella essential oil - Sri Lankan and Javan – and Tinderbox uses Sri Lankan citronella, which does not yield as much oil but has a fresher and less woody scent than its Javan cousin.
Aroma:Â Top Note.
Perfume:Â Slightly sweet, lemony. Grassy with woody notes.
Blends well with: geranium, lemon, bergamot, orange, cedarwood, pine, lavender, peppermint, petitgrain, sage.
