Our Dahl Mixes are a blend of organic lentils and spices balanced to perfection. I've has drawn on the rich tapestry of moments from my travels across India to create flavours and scents that evoke memories the many bowls of dahl shared with local families, and countless cups of street food dahl.
Nutritious and delicious, the mixes are designed to be super versatile – just add water and whatever vegies you have to hand, or increase the meal with added protein, tinned tomatoes, coconut milk or fresh herbs.
Each mix makes at least four generous serves and has serving suggestions and recipes variations on the pack. Enjoy!
From the Love My Earth kitchen to yours, Butter Masala Dahl mix. An aromatic blend of organic spices and red lentils. Rich and belly warming, it will soon be a family favourite.
Spice level 2/4 - a rich and aromatic meal with a hit of chilli
Directions For Use
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee or coconut oil in a medium sized saucepan. Add dahl mix, stirring, until fragrant, approx. 2 minutes.
Add 1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes and 750ml (3 cups) boiling water and stir to combine and bring to a bubbling boil.
Recommended – add 2 cups of mixed chopped vegetables.
Turn heat to low and cook dahl, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes. Stir through 1/4 cup of cream. Serve warm.
