Natural Grain Baja Gold is our coarser, full-crystal mineral sea salt. It retains its signature moisture and rich texture and is a perfect finishing touch to your favorite dishes. Its larger salt crystals make it ideal for cooks who like to pinch and sprinkle by hand.

Course

Grilling or seasoning meat before cooking Finishing touch on roasted vegetables Salt crusts and rubs Adding crunch to salads or baked dishes.

How To Use

Baja Gold is an unrefined sea salt that preserves the valuable trace minerals of the ocean. Our natural creation process retains slightly more moisture than traditional table salt. This can make standard saltshaker use difficult. In these cases, we recommend seasoning by hand.

We have also heard from customers that adding some rice grains to their saltshaker (with the Baja Gold) may help. You can also consider a very low-heat 'bake' of the salt to try and reduce the moisture slightly. This would be about ~15 - 20 minutes at 200 degrees F.

Lastly, some customers have reported using a Parmesan Cheese shaker – the larger holes seem to work well for Baja!

If you prefer to remove your Baja Gold from its original packaging, we recommend storing in a glass, wooden, or plastic container that is air-tight (as best possible). Please do not store in metal containers. Please keep within a stable temperature and humidity environment.

Keeping Baja Gold within a salt cellar on your stovetop or kitchen table works perfectly well.
